Mr Blue Door and I have been down at the House with the Blue Door inbetween summer rentals to do some work on the old place. It was built originally in 1932 and is by the sea, so needs constant maintenance! This week I've been adding some new framed artwork and adding some more lettering to the walls in the kitchen. This year the rentals, generally, have been going well, with a lot of renters understanding what I'm trying to do with the place ie protect, maintain and promote a really important heritage asset on the Humberston Fitties. This area is a Conservation Area, and is sometimes misunderstood to be a holiday park. Some of the 300 chalets on the site are available to rent, but the Fitties is a unique survivor of early 20th Century holidaying by the sea, and I count myself proud to be one of the people who act as custodians of these special buildings.
