Going back to the start...

It's odd to look back now to nearly six years ago, before my business, The House with the Blue Door got started, when I'd just been made redundant after Covid. At the time it didn't feel like the start of an adventure, it felt like I'd never get on my feet financially again. But six years on, the chalet is being rented to folks who seem to really get the place and get the Fitties and I've established a good reputation for my art, my work, and my research locally. But, I also wanted a bit of a change. It can be a bit tough being self-employed, having no work mates can be quite lonely. So when Green Futures, the place I'd lost my job from, contacted me asking me to go and work a couple of days a week I just couldn't say know. I'm now working on some brochures and material to promote this lovely community garden. It's rich with heritage and wildlife, and James, the Canoe River Cleaner, has also joined us, taking some office space. I'm looking forward to what we can use the place for over the coming year to ensure that we build a community around Green Futures that's part of the wider networks of good people doing good things! x
