Thanks to a Develop Your Creative Practice grant this year I've been able to learn new techniques and try new things. One of which was to attend a bookbinding course at The Old School in Minting. I've previously had my books printed professionally, perfect bound. But I realised I love the tactility of sewing pages together, of physically creating a book where only sheets of paper and thread were there previously. It's been a game-changer, I want to create more of these handmade books, this old, once-new technology is much more in line with what I'm about, and I'm looking forward to seeing what books of my work I can create with new tools; needles, binding cradles and bone folders. x
