Join in Heritage Week celebrations by coming along to the Humberston Fitties and enjoying a stroll around the site to do some ‘bung-goozling’, otherwise known as the activity of looking at chalets and saying ‘ooh that one’s nice’, or ‘I could live in that one!’, It’s easy to while away an hour looking at the different chalets, some of which date from 100 years ago.
I’ll be opening the House with the Blue Door at 254 Anthonys Bank Road between 10am and 3pm to talk about the heritage of this fascinating place, which in many ways tells the story of how the good folk of Grimsby and Cleethorpes, then later further afield, came to create holiday homes on this coast. Katie at 85 will be opening her chalet for tea and cake between 12 and 3pm, so if you’d like to enjoy a walk on this stretch of the Humber’s SSSi and learn more about the heritage of the Fitties, then come along on Sunday x
