Sketchbook flick through

I'm averaging around 3 weeks per sketchbook currently. It's normally a book a month, but I've got a few commissions on at the minute so I'm needing to use lots of sketchbook pages. I always feel a sense of loss as I close one book and begin another, and it takes me until I'm around half way through my 'new' book to feel as though I've breathed enough life into the pages. At the beginning the pages feel rather 'dead' and too white and flat. I prefer them when they've been crinkled with watercolour and dripped with ink!
