Talking a pencil for a walk

Nature noticing.

Yesterday was something a bit new. Going out with a lovely group of home schoolers and their mums, as well as River Cleaner James. We went along the cliff-top path along the Fitties. I'd explained to the kids that we would be using some technology, paper and a pencil - which these items both were in their time. Particularly paper, it changed the world! It was great to see everyone engaging with the environment, looking for signs of badgers and having a go at drawing a landscape view over the Humber. Drawing isn't about creating a great or technically good picture. It's about looking, observing, and making personal marks in response to an observation. I'd love to do more of this work in the future. x
