Three weeks of bliss...

The House with the Blue Door on the Humberston Fitties.

I've just returned from a family break at my chalet on the Fitties. No car, no internet, no work. A complete seaside bubble, slowing down to the rhythm of the tide. Biking along the salt marsh path and being entranced by the purple carpet of sea lavender and its daily inundations by the sea. Sitting with a cuppa on the decking watching the collared doves build their nest in the wayfarer tree, and enjoying a more stripped-down simple way of being. I even went for a swim in the salt and seaweed of an evening high tide a couple of times - the memory of my boy splashing around like a wet dog is one to treasure.

Coming back into town and just the busyness of everything has been a bit of a jolt, but I did return to the pleasant surprise of finding that the chalet was mentioned in a Guardian article about Cleethorpes. As someone who probably doesn't do enough in terms of promotion it was nice to be discovered and given an unexpected shout-out. x
