I've been trying something very new in the last couple of weeks. I was asked to paint a mural on a school in Grimsby as part of the Paint the Town Proud project. I've been mulling over for months about how I actually transfer my very paper and ink-based work onto a wall. The first bit was pretty easy, just take a roller with white paint and create a base. The next bit required working with grids (not very me with my rather energetic style) and getting some pots of paint. Once I got started I realised that I shouldn't have really worried. I've been able to transfer my style to a wall, and from a distance it amazingly looks like a really large version of something that usually measures 21x30cm! Here's to pushing at comfort blankets and trying new things!
